The Mounting Federal Deficit

The pollster Rasmussen has an statement out discussed in this article at Newsmax: "Deficit Closer to $4 Trillion for 2012." Thanks to Rush for bringing it to mt attention. I just about vomited and died when I read it. We're in deep trouble as a nation, because our politicians have been tricking us for decades regarding the federal deficit. You should read the whole thing. Really. There's a link to his new book in the article too; the book is titled The People's Money: How the American People Will Balance the Budget and Eliminate the Federal Debt. Here is the essence of the article to peak your curiosity:

"Rasmussen notes that 'The simplest way to get people to make bad decisions is to give them bad information. That’s the way con men work, and that’s how America’s Political Class led America into a fiscal crisis. For several decades, the federal government has consistently and systematically misled the American people about federal spending, deficits, and the federal debt.'

"Rasmussen notes that the actual federal debt is closer to $120 trillion rather than the $16 trillion discussed in Congress."
AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Don't trust any politician and watch them like hawks after they're elected!

PS. I would love to understand how federal trust funds work better - can anyone tell me? Rasmussen left me enlightened as to the existence federal trust funds, but confused how they play into the deficit.
