You know how candidates promise all sorts of great things when they're elected and then rarely follow through? Obama promised many contradictory things. Therefore, the left loves him because he followed through on their side. The right hates him because he didn't. I ran into an editorial in the Washington Times today, by a guy named Charles Hurt, entitled, " 'Islamist Firster' president not what he claimed."
Before you rage and rail, listen to his explanation of the term he gave President Obama.
"Leading Democrats have been in the news lately sliming Americans who
stick up for Israel as being “Israel Firsters.” Well, Mr. Obama has
become an “Islamist Firster.” "
This isn't news. None of his foreign policy bungles are news. Charles Hurt goes on at length with the foreign policy problems, but you can read that on your own.
This is what I hadn't heard or had forgotten from the campaign trail four years ago.
"When he was campaigning to become the most powerful man in the last
standing superpower on Earth, he spoke passionately about changing the
world, restoring America’s greatness and bringing more peace and
fairness to everyone.
"In both foreign and domestic matters, Mr. Obama had unique credibility to change things as few presidents ever had.
his background as a liberal street organizer, he campaigned on tax cuts
and personal responsibility and preached that the government simply
cannot be the answer to every problem. Republicans would have no choice
but to go along with an agenda to shrink the tax burden and get the
federal government out of our everyday lives.
"Instead, Mr. Obama
has devoted his administration to raising taxes, adding to the byzantine
structure of the federal government, and has created a whole new
massive bureaucracy he claims really will cure our every little boo-boo."
That last sentence isn't news either, of course. We all know that. What this means, though, is that not only is Obama a foreign policy bungler, his credibility to change things for the citizens of the United States has flown the coup - his record is night and day away from his campaign slogans. He won't be able to promise the same things again for reelection, because his record screams otherwise. The trick will be (on the GOP side) to do this without the left crying 'racist' for any criticism of a president of the United States who happens to be black! I do have great faith in the people of America to see through that sham for what it is. Just like they should be able to see through the empty, broken promises of hope and change. We're ready for real change. We're ready to throw out any politician guilty of breaking campaign promises - and far too many GOP Congressman have this same problem of expanding government while touting cuts. Enough already!
In light of Obama's dismal record, check out this Gallup primary election prediction!
